“If you are looking to live life to your fullest potential, you are in the right place.”
I am Lucinda Bibbs, Registered Clinical based in the Okanagan, offering in person services in Penticton and Summerland and online.
Are you feeling burnt out, disconnected or lost in life? Many have been through some past trauma and reflect back on an upbringing and childhood where they had to hold back parts of themselves in order to keep the peace, or act out in order to be seen or heard. Many are living a life that feels bla, unhappy in relationships, feeling exhausted and like there isn't much purpose.
When my clients start with me, they struggle to answer the questions - who are you? What brings you joy? What do you need? What would a fullfilling life look like? And often find it easy to start with what doesn’t feel right or ‘good’.
I also work with clients that have done a fair amount of ‘work’ on themselves, feeling they are relatively self aware and ‘know’ all the theories, their attachment styles, their fears and they patterns that hold them back but are not sure how exactly to create the change in their life and to embody their knowing.
Does this resonate?
What its like to work with me
I believe we are wired for connection and we were not meant to walk this life alone or overcome struggles alone. So I will meet you exactly where you are, angry, sad, numb, frustrated, confused, alone… you are met there. We always need to meet ourself where we are at, do our best to do it with our judgement and ith compassion, for the simple reason, is if we are not meeting and connecting with ourselves where we are at, then we are not meeting ourselves authentically. And we cant do much with inauthenticity!
From here we can work together on
Relationships with self, Belief Systems and inner narratives
Healing from Trauma
Anxiety and Nervous system Regulation
Relationships with others
Finding Purpose and Living an Aligned path
Becoming the Highest Version of you

Masters of Counselling
Following my undergrad in psychology from the University of Reading, UK I continued my education of psychology and completed my masters of counselling in 2012 from City University of Seattle.
Certified Breathwork & Cold Exposure Facilitator
After many years working as a counsellor and overcoming some of my own challenges later in life, I explored many somatic and mindfulness based approaches, landing on Breathwork and Cold exposure which has been my most powerful and impactful work today.
A little more about me…
Who am I beyond the therapy room! On an average weekend you will find me running a cold dipping group every Saturday morning, leading the group with music, movement and gratitude - and my two kiddos running along the rocks in the background. I am a recovering workaholic, so do my best to keep to my work boundaries and spend time with the family, hiking, at local coffee shops and family events.
Most weeks I enjoy leading and participating in Breathwork and Sound bath events within the Okanagan and online.
Why a Counsellor?
From as early as I can remember I wanted to work with children, with my goal of becoming a child psychologist in my teen years I not only pursued education in psychology into university but also volunteered in as many camps and child care opportunities as I could - this included travelling to New York to work with underprivileged children, to several schools and childcare facilities. While my love for working with children continues, transitioning into the professional world of therapy, I have found a passion and impact working with adult individuals and working with caregivers and children in a group capacity within the speciality of nervous system regulation.
Hobbies & other interests
I love many things from Spartan Race training to skiing, to dancing, to searching for the latest tunes for my work and exercise playlist to indulging in hallmark movies during the holidays! I generally tend to spend my intentional time engaged in activities that are of best service to my health, connection with myself, my family and community.

Breathwork is the conscious manipulation of the breath to create a desired effect. Breathwork can be incredibly helpful in regulating our nervous system , informing our body and mind we are safe, bringing ourselves into the present moment and connecting to the body. It can also help us process and release energy, emotions, beliefs and conditioning that is no longer helpful to us.
Is breathwork dangerous - It can be. And particular forms of breathwork are not for everyone. We will do an assessment to see where your nervous system is at and work with the breath in a way that is most supportive to you. Often starting with our natural breath. -
I work with a lot of people that have been to therapy for a long time and worked with many different types of modalities. What is often missing is how to embody the insights, teachings, awareness and knowledge that comes from therapy, to live in a way that reflects all the work they have done to understand themselves. The embodiment of this knowledge and understanding comes through the work of reprogramming the bodies nervous system to align with what the mind already knows.

Therapy can help with this in many ways. For me I work with a neuroscience understanding based off the work of Lisa Feldman Barrett, that explains how our brain works in a predictive nature, so using the past to predict our future and continually run on most probable outcome, moment to moment, and communicating this to our body to respond to the predictions. The challenge is that we then end up continually playing out life based on past experiences, with little presence and ownership in how we live our lives and how we perceive both ourselves and the world around us. Our running thoughts and busy mind are often a product of need to be able to best predict an outcome, however the more we think, the most stressed we become, and so the more we think we need to think…and the spiral continues. The lowest hangingfruit to interrupt this is through the breath. Our breath is our nervous system, and is the gateway to anchoring our mind into the present moment, and only in the present moment.

Yes there is, my Summerland office is much more supportive to Somatic forms of therapy, being a holistic and energy healing space with room for us to lie down, engage in sound and movement as well as talk therapy!
